After my fantastic 27 birthday adventure, I had to return the favor and try and surprise Matt as much as possible for his 29th birthday which was on the 17th of June. Man was that hard work! I am no good at keeping surprises, and he is nosy as all get out! Plus, I kept wanting to run all my creative planning ideas by him, as he usually is the brains in that department. But thanks to our families and friends, it turned out to be a success!
Matt's birthday consisted of a surprise party on the night of the 16th. The party was themed "All About Matt" with attendees wearing some representation of Matt's personality. His sister Renee, her husband Bill and their two adorable boys took the cake wearing home-made shirts of quality descriptions all about Matt.
Among some of the adventurous party details, attendees got to tour Matt's 1977 bus, which is in the process of being converted into a BUSTAURANT. (Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming links and information on news in that area soon).
Some of the braver participants even attempted driving this 36 foot long, 26, 000 lb diesel machine. Hahaha..... yeah.....
The day after the surprise party, was surprise numero dos. Matt got to check out Ojo Caliente, the natural hot springs of northern NM for the first time! Birthday goers, take advantage, as entrance is free on your special day.
Soaking in the Iron tub.
Mudteo! His hair needed to be washed, so he resorted to the mud pool and it actually worked!
Showing off his hair.
And to end the night we went to Gabriel's (a famous New Mexican restaurant off the highway between Pojoaque and Santa Fe) and chowed down on some delicious, fresh guacamole made just to your liking right at your table, and chicken/shrimp fajitas! Mmmmm!
Bring it on 29, says Matt. It's business time.
